We are thrilled to present our first solo exhibition with contemporary Scottish watercolour artist Pascale Rentsch at Strathearn Gallery, Nature’s Hues, which opens on Saturday 6th June.
A member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour, Pascale is celebrated for her deeply expressive and intuitive approach to painting en plein air, creating works that respond directly to the energy and atmosphere of the natural world. Her practice is rooted in instinct and emotion rather than rigid planning, allowing each painting to unfold organically as she responds in real time to light, weather, and shifting landscape conditions.
Nature’s Hues invites viewers into a vivid and deeply personal exploration of landscape, where each work holds the imprint of a lived moment. Rain, wind, and changing light become active collaborators in her process, leaving delicate traces within the paint and transforming each piece into something both fragile and powerful. These paintings feel like visual diaries - capturing emotion, memory, and connection- offering a reminder of the beauty found in openness, spontaneity, and the ever-changing natural world.
