We are delighted to present CONNECTION, our first
solo exhibition with acclaimed artist Blythe Scott at Annan Gallery, Glasgow.
This vibrant new collection explores a theme that feels
increasingly relevant: our innate desire to connect — with place, with memory
and with one another. Through her expressive use of colour, texture and light,
Blythe invites us to pause and rediscover the beauty and familiarity of the
places that shape our lives.
A riot of colour and vibrancy, the exhibition reflects
Blythe’s deep connection to her home city and to the places and subjects she
paints. Painting has always been her most natural form of communication, and
while each work begins with her own experience, it takes on a new life when
shared with others.
Collectors and viewers often discover their own personal
connections within Blythe’s paintings — echoes of memories, journeys and
experiences in scenes that were never intended to tell a single story.
CONNECTION celebrates this shared visual language and
the remarkable ability of art to bring people together, reminding us that some
of the most meaningful connections are the ones we never expect.

Our season of specially curated exhibitions continues
throughout November and December, with a focused show from Jonathan Shearer in
November, followed by a special feature with Jack Morrocco, showing at
Strathearn Gallery for the first time.
Each artist brings a distinctive perspective and individual
approach to their practice. Together, these exhibitions celebrate the quality
and diversity of contemporary Scottish art, bringing together artists whose
work is admired and collected both in Scotland and further afield.
