We’re delighted to welcome one of Scotland’s most iconic and collectable contemporary artists, Ron Lawson, back to Strathearn Gallery with a major solo exhibition of new works, The Quiet Beyond. His first solo show in two years and only exhibition in 2025, this is a rare opportunity to experience an entirely new collection from an artist whose distinctive style has captivated collectors around the world.

Renowned for his minimalist yet deeply atmospheric depictions of Scotland’s crofting communities and wild island landscapes, Ron’s paintings are instantly recognisable. Using a restrained palette and exceptional precision, he captures the stillness, solitude, and quiet resilience of remote places — evoking a powerful sense of space and belonging.

This new collection includes a series inspired by Ron’s long-held ambition to visit St Kilda, whose dramatic cliffs, vast horizons, and thriving puffin colonies provide rich new inspiration. Painted exclusively in watercolour, these works continue his lifelong exploration of Scotland’s most remote and remarkable landscapes, reaffirming his status as one of the country’s leading landscape artists.
