Katie is based in Scarborough and uses hand-building techniques to create Earthenware vessels and forms.
'I enjoy the slow and relatively controlled process allowing me time for thinking and reacting to the material at different stages.
I work with White Ashraf Hanna clay and apply colour using oxides and underglaze colours.
Inspiration comes from the landscape and seascape around where I live and find I am influenced by the man made and natural marks in the environment on both a large and small scale.
A constant is the need to make and a desire to get better at it'.
