Exhibition Works About the artist
Davy Brown

Davy Brown

Born in Kilmarnock, Davy studied at Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 1972. He went on to train as a teacher at Moray House College in Edinburgh. In 1975, he won a scholarship from the Institute of Cultural Affairs in Chicago. This scholarship enabled Davy to travel extensively in the USA and Canada and to further develop his skills as a painter. When he returned from his travels, Davy taught art in Scotland, whilst continuing to paint and exhibit along with other leading Scottish artists. Davy eventually left teaching and is now a full-time artist. Davy's paintings have been inspired by his love of the Scottish landscape. Frequent trips to Cornwall have also nurtured an interest in the paintings of the modern St. Ives abstractionists.
