George is a ceramic artist based in Newcastle upon Tyne, where he has been making beautiful and contemporary ceramics since 1991.
George grew up in Kent and graduated with a Fine Art degree from Sunderland University. He also has teaching qualifications, including a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. After setting up his pottery workshop, George began teaching ceramics in 1998. He currently teaches adults at Longbenton Community College, North Tyneside and John Spence, North Tyneside.
All of George's domestic ware pieces are hand thrown on the potter's wheel and then turned to ensure thinness and even shape. The Black, Brown and Black, and Black and White Stripy pieces are achieved with layers of glazes separated with wax resist.
Each of George's stunning and unique pieces is handcrafted with care and features an impactful and contemporary design.
